University of Phoenix Professional Development Courses - Additional Terms of Use

Please read the following carefully. Anyone who purchases a Professional Development Course (“Course”) are subject to the University of Phoenix Privacy Policy, the University of Phoenix Terms and Conditions and the following supplemental Additional Terms (collectively together referred to as “Terms of Use”). These Terms of Use are between you and the University of Phoenix (UOPX). If you do not accept these Terms, do not purchase the Courses.

If You Are a Bulk Purchaser

For purposes of these Additional Terms, a “Bulk Purchaser” means an individual purchasing one or more Courses for one or more individuals other than himself/herself.

As a Bulk Purchaser you hereby represent and warrant the following:

  • You have full power and authority to purchase the Courses and to agree to the obligations set out in these Terms of Use on behalf of yourself and any other party you are acting on behalf of - e.g. your employer if you are purchasing Courses for employees of your organization – (hereinafter “Business Entity”).
  • That all individuals you register to receive Courses are residents of the United States and that, notwithstanding, you have all necessary consents to transmit Personal Information to UOPX on behalf of any individuals you enter into the UOPX system.
  • You will only use Course content for your or the Business Entity’s internal business purposes and you shall not make any of the Courses available for resale or otherwise commercially exploit the courses.

In addition to any other indemnity obligation set out in the Terms and Conditions, you agree on behalf of yourself, and any Business Entity you represent, to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the University from and against any claims, damages, costs, liabilities and expenses (including, but not limited to, reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to a breach of your obligations set forth in these Additional Terms.

You further understand and agree that all of the Additional Terms below apply to all individuals taking Courses whether through a Business Entity or as an individual purchaser.

If You Are An Individual

Purchase Eligibility

UOPX doesn’t offer these Courses to individuals in certain countries. You hereby expressly consent to allow UOPX or a designated third party to conduct an Office of Foreign Assets Control restrictions check and an adverse finding may result in your purchase being denied.

You must be eighteen (18) years of age or older and have the required authority to purchase a Course and to agree to these Terms of Use.

Certificate of Completion

The Course you have purchased is not part of any UOPX certificate, continuing education, degree or other program, nor does it constitute a university-level “unit of study”. Any academic assessment of the content of the course for university credit is at the discretion of the evaluating school. While these courses are designed for personal and professional development, they do not provide any professional development units or credits (PDUs or CEUs) from the University of Phoenix. If you plan to use this course for professional development units or credits, you will need to check with any applicable agency and employer.

Upon successful demonstration of skill competencies in each module by achieving a score of 85% or higher, you will obtain a certificate of completion for the course.

All Courses provided are in English. All Courses are self-moderated.

Purchasing a course

To purchase and access the Course you must register through www.phoenix.edu/professional-development  and you will be required to provide information about yourself including your name, email address, username and password and other personal information. You agree that any registration information you provide will always be accurate, correct and up to date.

The Course and the relevant login details are solely for your use. You may not share or permit any other person to access the Course under your credentials. The Course may only be used by you as permitted herein and may not be sold or distributed without UOPX’s prior written consent. Your access to the Course may be revoked for failure to abide by these Terms of Use or upon nonpayment.

Course prices are listed on the www.phoenix.edu/professional-development website. You are responsible for payment upon registration and checkout. Payment may only be made via credit card at www.phoenix.edu/professional-development. Payment in full must be made prior to accessing the Course. UOPX reserves the right at its sole discretion to change its prices at any time.

Once you have paid for a Course, you will be sent email confirmation with 24 hours of payment. If you do not receive an email, then please contact us at professional.development@phoenix.edu.

Accessing a Course

You can access the Course immediately upon purchase. You will receive access to the Course for a period of 365 days from date of purchase. After 365 days, you will no longer have access to the Course.

Refunds

If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase, and you’ll be granted a refund. After the 7-day period, no refunds will be granted. To request a refund, please contact the professional development team at professional.development@phoenix.edu. You will no longer have access to your course(s) once your refund begins processing.

Technology Requirements

The following technology requirements are necessary for these courses:

  • a modern web browser with the latest version installed

Notice

By purchasing the Course, you accept, agree and understand that you are fully responsible for your progress and results from your participation and that we offer no representations, warranties or guarantees verbally or in writing regarding your future earnings, business profit, marketing performance, audience growth, health or results of any kind. UOPX does not guarantee that you will get any results using any of our ideas, tools, strategies or recommendations, and nothing in our Course is a promise or guarantee to you of such results.

UOPX may at any time change or discontinue any Course, subject to fulfilling our responsibilities to you based on acceptance of your payment.

UOPX reserves the right to immediately remove you from the Course without a refund if you violate these Terms of Use.
