Course level: Graduate

In this course, students will analyze the factors that have resulted in contemporary innovative changes in higher education. The course will focus on leadership influences in the evaluation and application of change management models, strategies, and tactics that promote effective institutional innovation. Competency A: Examine organizational theory and its application to system-wide organizational planning and change as a leader within higher education. Competency B: Evaluate how organizational theory and practices are used to improve leadership decisions and system-wide organizational outcomes in higher education administration. Competency C: Analyze the dynamics of change, how to lead change, and the impact change has on students, staff, faculty, and other stakeholders. Competency D: Synthesize key concepts for how leadership styles influence the implementation of organizational planning and change. Competency E: Evaluate the implementation of strategic plans and tactics to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of higher education organizations. Competency F: Evaluate continuous system-wide improvement and evaluation processes.
